It all begins…

Hi, In 2008 my husband, Michael went on the Snowy Ride and had a great weekend away. Over the years we’ve come to know the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation (that organise this weekend) not only provide a great weekend for bike riders, but also give children with cancer and their families a weekend away doing fun things. But more importantly, this charity works towards finding a cure for cancer. In the words of Steven Walter who lost his life to cancer..”So that one day no other kid will have to go through what I have been through.” Steven was only 19 years old. Our son was 26 when cancer robbed him of his life.
So with the intention of raising as much money as possible, Michael and I have decided to go on the Around Australia Ride 2013 with The Steve Walter Foundation, leaving May 1st from Randwick Children’s Hospital and arriving back there on June 3rd. A total of 34 days covering over 14,000 kilometres.

Well done Karen and Michael !! The Lord Jesus bless and keep all the riders as you travel.
We will certainly be praying for you. We will miss seeing you both at church. It was so good to meet
some of your friends on bikes at church last week too. Have a fruitful trip.

Take care Michael & Karen. May you enjoy this wonderful experience of riding around Australia. You may need your thermals & wet weather gear and you may need your summer jackets and everything in between! You will enjoy meeting new people & seeing so many great towns along the way. It is an awesome cause as you well know. Trusting in the Guzzi for you! Looking forward to seeing you in the Barossa in late May. The CMA guys will be praying for you and God will be with you all the way.

  3. A great thing for you both to be doing! Safe travels!

Hi Karen. I like the map which shows where you’re going to be travelling through, but it looks like you’re going around the coast, which means if I want to see you on your travels I’ll have to go for a bit of a ride myself. I hope you have a safe ride and will try and catch you at one of your stops nearby.

Thank would be nice Lyn – we haven’t had any CMA’s meet up, but we are travelling so much, just knowing people are following is enough
